Thinging Through Making
The main objective of this Thinking Through Making project was to choose a raw material and observe how they would react when worked under different techniques and situations. A sponge soaked in the clay slip was used in various experiments, which caught my eye by chance. A mould was made by stitching a sponge, which was then carved. The soaked sponge was also baked and cut into thin slices. These were tested in different experiments regarding form, texture, and transparency

Material: Earthenware, various sponges
Dimension: various

"A sponge itself cannot endure the heat of a kiln,
but a slip-soaked sponge will produce an identical, durable ceramic piece."
